Affiliate marketing is the world’s most untapped source for generating passive income. What is affiliate marketing exactly?
The best definition of what affiliate marketing is can be found on Pat Flynn’s Smart Passive Income:
“Affiliate marketing is the process of earning a commission by promoting other people’s (or company’s) products. You find a product you like, promote it to others and earn a piece of the profit for each sale that you make.”
If you’re looking either to sign up affiliates for your own programs, or to become an affiliate yourself, here’s some great info from marketing genius, Neil Patel:
Note, MBS has a great affiliate program, and if you’re a current user of MBS you’ve already got your very own Affiliate link:
TIPS & TRICKS
In MBS Transactions are updated daily. Each day you should see Transactions through the previous day.
If you would like to get Transactions further back than what Amazon provides automatically to MBS, you can generate a report in your Seller Central, then use the MBS Plugin to pull that info and update your data.
Note: If you don’t have the MBS Plugin, the steps are in the Knowledge Base here:
It takes just a few seconds to get the plugin.
To update data, first generate a report in Amazon:
Select the Transaction report type, and set the From and To dates for the range of dates you’re missing:
You might need to Refresh until the report is generated.
Once generated and available for Download, go to your ManageByStats, under Statistics, and set the same Starting date and click the Download Data button:
It will let you know when complete, and it can then take several hours after that for the data to finish populating.
THE WORLD OF AMAZON
For over a decade the Amazon marketplace worked as a way to get brands unwilling to sell directly to Amazon onto the platform. Most brands would refuse to sell to Amazon, but their products would still end up on Amazon because a few small retailers would list them there …
Brands woke up to Amazon. This happened in the last few years. First, brands tried to control distribution on Amazon through only allowing a set list of sellers. Second, they tried to become sellers themselves. And most recently they started hiring Amazon agencies to manage their presence on the platform …
This week, some short ones:
The doctor’s chart said my blood was type-A, but that was a type-O.
What do you do if you see a fireman? Put it out, man.
A man walks into a bar and there’s a bunch of meat hanging from the ceiling. The man asks the bartender, “What’s the deal with the meat?” The bartender explains that if you jump and slap a piece of meat, you get to drink free for the night, but if you miss, you must buy drinks for everyone in the bar. The man responds, “No thanks, the steaks are too high.”
Why do Swedish warships have barcodes on them? So that when they return to port, they can Scandinavian.
6:30 is hands down the best time of day.
Did you hear about the cheese factory in France that exploded? All that was left was de Brie.
A slice of apple pie costs $2.50 in Jamaica and $3.00 in the Bahamas. These are the pie rates of the Caribbean.
My wife treats me like a god. She only calls me when she needs me.
