MBS Now Tracks And Reports A Critical Metric For Amazon Sellers

Hello & Welcome

See you in the New Year!

TIPS & NEW STUFF

Know Your Advertising Cost of Total Sales

There’s a new metric available in your Statistics, and it’s called Ads Cost of Total Sales, or ACOTS for short. ACOTS is your advertising spend divided by your total sales (sales from both ads and organic sales).

It’s available in Statistics as an additional column. To add the ACOTS column, in Statistics click the gear wheel, select ACOTS and click Save.

Knowing this figure gives you an idea what percentage of your total sales is going for advertising. It’s a valuable metric, and now it’s in your ManageByStats.

Find and use it in your MBS under Profits > Statistics.

SELLER INSIGHT

Products which qualify for Prime get a lot more attention and sales from the 100+ million Amazon Prime subscribers in the U.S.

Sellers want a piece of this action too, but at first they could only qualify for Prime by putting their inventory into the Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) program. FBA works well but can be expensive and isn’t a good option for all items.

This changed when Amazon released Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP). With SFP, businesses running their own shipping operation can get the Prime badge on their products without using FBA. For some businesses, SFP completely changes the Amazon game …

THE WORLD OF AMAZON

You’ve seen the news about Amazon cutting ties with FedEx. But what led to it?

FedEx fired the first shot in this skirmish back in August, when it cut its ties with Amazon. Call that move a preemptive breakup: The shipping company acted when it did to avoid letting the online retailer be the one to end the relationship.

Still, the official cutting of ties only meant that Amazon would no longer use FedEx. Third-party shippers in the Amazon Prime program could still opt to use the carrier as long as orders arrived in the time frame prescribed by Amazon …

HUMOR

This week, a selection:

Husband: “Oh the weather is lovely today. Shall we go out for a quick jog?”

Wife: “Haha, I love the way you pronounce ‘Shall we go out and have a cake’!”

Everybody knows 40 is the new 30, right? But the police officer giving me a speeding ticket couldn’t be persuaded.

A recent scientific study showed that out of 2,293,618,367 people, 94% are too lazy to actually read that number.

I’ve always thought my neighbors were quite nice people. But then they put a password on their Wi-Fi.
