MBS In The News

Last week …

Notifications Feature Added To MBS

Hello & Welcome

In this week’s issue we notify you about notifications in Tips & Tricks. In Seller Insight we share ways to spot trending products and, better yet, how to successfully get in on the wave. And in The World of Amazon this week we’ve got two segments, Amazon’s One-Tap review system, and updates on the latest tax collection states.

TIPS & NEW STUFF

Our new stuff this week is notifications, so, in a sense, we’re notifying you of notifications.

The new notifications are meant to be very intuitive, but we want to take a moment and draw your attention to this feature in your ManageByStats. It’s a standard “bell” icon, like you see in many other applications, with a number overlay when you have notifications you haven’t viewed.

You may have noticed this already. Click the bell to see your notifications.

Notifications are broken into categories:

System Messages, for information pertinent to the state of the overall system, which could include known issues that are being worked on, as well as vital account info.

New Features, for when new features are released.

Opportunities, or events, webinars and trainings important for MBS users to know about.

Blogs, when posted, a notice will appear.

Our goal is to use these to keep you up-to-date in real time, so if you see new notifications when you log in — check them out.

It’s a great way to stay informed.

SELLER INSIGHT

Learning how to capitalize on fast-moving industry trends can significantly bump sales for any ecommerce seller.

One of the easiest and fastest ways to profit from a trending item is to produce a secondary product relevant to the main item. This is often seen when the latest tech gadget is released, and a rash of new compatible accessory items erupt onto the marketplace.

But competition is very high when it comes to profiting from trending products, and you can’t just jump on the bandwagon and expect to be successful …

THE WORLD OF AMAZON

One-Tap Review System

Amazon is testing an easier way for people to leave product feedback with the launch of one-tap ratings. The change is meant to encourage those who don’t have the time, energy or interest in writing reviews to still share their opinion about the product, which benefits the larger Amazon community of shoppers who are reliant on ratings and reviews to make better purchasing decisions …

Amazon Will Collect Taxes In More States

As of October 1st Amazon will collect and remit taxes in ten more states. Based on changes to Arizona, California, Colorado, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, North Dakota, Texas, and Utah States tax laws, Amazon will begin calculating, collecting, and remitting sales and use tax for all orders shipped to customers in those states on October 1, 2019.

MBS reports this MFT (Marketplace Facilitator Tax) and includes it accordingly in all stats analysis.

HUMOR

St. Peter welcomes a taxi driver and a priest and shows them to their homes.

For the taxi driver, a beautiful villa looking over a gorgeous field of clouds. “Thank you,” the ecstatic taxi driver says.

Anticipating an even bigger mansion, the priest is dismayed when they arrive at a small 1-bedroom apartment.

“St. Peter, I’m a little puzzled,” the priest begins. “As a clergyman, I devoted decades of my life solely to serving the Lord. How come the taxi driver got a villa, and for me, only a small apartment?”

St. Peter smiles. “Up here, we go by results. While you preached, people slept; while he drove, people prayed.”
