FIRST WORD

Profit vs. Revenue.  High revenue is great, but if your profit is nonexistent then a high revenue is near meaningless.  Knowing the profitability of your business is vital. ManageByStats shows you your Profit, and we’ve now made it clear how that figure is calculated.

On your Sales Dashlets, click the “?” icon next to Profit for a breakdown.  Read more about it in MBS In The News.

This week in Sellers Paradise we feature results from an interview with 20+ seven- and eight-figure Amazon sellers.  Learn their most successful actions. The free Facebook Ninja course is open a little bit longer, so if you haven’t yet signed up yet backflip on over and secure your spot.  See the section Learn. Know. Do.

Amazon Advertising is hot, and it’s only getting hotter.  See The World Of Amazon for the latest.   And under Tips & Tricks learn more about a tool that’s already in your MBS, SellerBlast.

Here’s to a great week!

TIPS & TRICKS

ManageByStats has an email campaign tool.  You may or may not be aware of it, and you may even be using it already.  It’s called SellerBlast, and it’s a pretty cool feature no one else has.

SellerBlast lets you create email campaigns to be sent to your customers using their Amazon email addresses.  It’s free, and it’s in your ManageByStats now.

The free version, which can be used to create and send email campaigns to your customers using their Amazon email addresses, uses the SellerMail engine for its send operation.  All you need to do to get going with SellerBlast is to activate your SellerMail:

If you’re already using SellerMail then your SellerBlast should be good to go.

Amazon allows a certain number of emails to be sent in this manner each day.  The formula Amazon uses is:

600 emails/day + (5 x daily orders)

For example, say you do 100 orders a day.  Amazon will allow 600 + (5 x 100) emails to be sent through their system, or 1,100 emails each day.

Note, this volume applies across the board, so if you’re also sending SellerMail messages through Amazon, those are counted against the total.

SellerBlast is aware of these factors, and automatically throttles any campaign send to fall within Amazon’s restrictions.  In this way SellerBlast is able to intelligently control volume while taking advantage of the ability to send to your customers through Amazon.

No other provider is offering this service, and it’s in your ManageByStats now.

THE WORLD OF AMAZON

Here’s another move in the advertising space by Amazon.  They recently held a developers conference at their Seattle HQ, and with updates learned there, along with recent news of their progress in that arena (many of which we’ve reported on here in our weekly letters), it’s clear Amazon intends to reinforce their surge into All Things Advertising.  If past conquests are any indication, we can expect them to continue to gain dominance in this area.

Which is good for us as Amazon sellers.  We’re already using the Amazon platform, and many if not most of us are aggressively bidding on and reaping the benefits of Amazon’s Sponsored Ads and keyword bidding.

As part of this rapid evolution, Amazon recently announced their intention to retire the names Amazon Media Group, Amazon Marketing Services and Amazon Advertising Platform in order to bring its advertising products together under a unified identity.  Those three names will gradually disappear over the coming months.

From now on they will be known simply as Amazon Advertising.

The New Amazon Advertising

Oh, and if you’re not using it yet, now’s the time to get started with the ManageByStats Advertising tool.  It’s in your MBS under Advertising, and you can trial it for 14 days.

The ads tool has features that aren’t available in the Amazon Sponsored Ads interface, making it much easier to set bids, monitor bid history, set target ACoS and more.  And more is coming. In anticipation of the coming flood we’re putting extra development energy into the MBS Advertising tool.

If you’re not already using it, check out the trial today!

HUMOR

A New York attorney representing a wealthy art collector called his client and said to him, “Saul, I have some good news and I have some bad news.”

The art collector replied, “I’ve had an awful day; let’s hear the good news first.”

The attorney said, “Well, I met with your wife today, and she informed me that she invested $5,000 in two pictures that she thinks will bring a minimum of $15-20 million.  I think she could be right.”

Saul replied enthusiastically, “Well done!  My wife always was a brilliant businesswoman!  You’ve just made my day. Now I know I can handle the bad news.  What is it?”

The attorney replied, “The pictures are of you with your secretary.”
