FIRST WORD

We got a new look, with a cool new ManageByStats.com website.  We think you’ll agree it’s pretty schnazzy.

Other improvements are coming as well.  Look for announcements here!

This week in Sellers Paradise we talk about protecting your brand.  In Tips & Tricks we cover some tips for knowing your profit — a key measurement of the health of your Amazon business, if not the key.  And in The World Of Amazon we take a look at the possibility of Amazon developing their own last-mile delivery service to compete with, or even replace, the USPS.

Here’s to a great week!

Tell Others About ManageByStats

As an Amazon seller you know the importance of feedback and reviews. They help us as much as they help product listings, and when a new user comes looking they look first for what others are saying. Would you be willing to help?

We’ve made it easy to leave a review:

WHAT’S NEW

We hope you’re loving the new main ManageByStats site.  Have you seen it?

It was time to bring ManageByStats.com into the 21st century.  The old site had gotten a bit dated, and it was no longer simply a case of design. We needed to update for the way people navigate modern sites, specifically on mobile devices, and the new site does exactly that.

If you haven’t visited yet we invite you to take a look.  More is coming, of course, but we think you’re really going to love the improvements.

ManageByStats Launches New Website

And once you’re done checking out the new site, take a look at the following …

LIVE EVENT COMING UP IN JANUARY

A live event, right here in Tampa, Florida, not far from the MBS offices.  If you live anywhere else in the world, we can assure you Florida in January is truly a paradise.  This event couldn’t come at a better time of year.

What is it?

An event hosted by the Quick Fast Hurry team, and if you’ve attended any of their webinars or events you know how dynamic this group is.  Everyone walks away jazzed, fully armed and ready to boom their Amazon business.

The event runs over a long weekend, Jan 17th thru the 19th, 2019.  Leading up to the event QFH will be hosting a webinar, where they’ll cover multiple topics, along with information on how you can attend the live event for free.

You read that right.

At the upcoming webinar you’ll learn how to get free admission to the live January event.  Between the webinar and the event you’ll learn things like:

  • How to double your Amazon business in under 30 days.
  • How to sell more using funnels and Shopify.
  • How to squeeze every dollar of profit out of a product.
  • The easiest way to identify product opportunities no one else has found yet.

Plus you’ll get to:

  • Network with high performing entrepreneurs from around the world.
  • Learn Facebook Ads from one the best FB marketers in the world.
  • Discover what actions to take now to make your business easy to sell later.

As well as learning how to start launching profitably (instead of traditional giveaways) using a unique method that QFH has developed that costs nothing.

What’s more, our ManageByStats founder, Philip Jepsen, will be there, and you’ll have an opportunity to meet and talk with him as well.

Can you think of a better way to kick off the New Year?

SELLERS PARADISE

It’s up to every brand to enforce its pricing policies, prevent the sale of knock-offs and avoid damage to its brand image. Here are three ways to do that …

How To Protect Your Brand On Amazon

TIPS & TRICKS

One of ManageByStats’ original strengths was its ability to show users things like Profit, ROI and Margin.  Amazon doesn’t show this. Amazon give you revenue, but awareness of revenue without awareness of profit is pointless.

If you’re selling a ton it makes little difference if you’re also spending a ton.  High Revenue isn’t an accurate measure of success. Only Profit truly tells you the health of your business.

As an MBS user you’re used to having this information available.  You enter your Costs under Settings > SKUs, and MBS does the rest.  We factor in those costs with Amazon Fees, Marketing costs, Shipping costs, etc. to show you what you’re really making.

But did you know we added a little “tip” button to the Profit on your dashboard dashlets?  Any sales dashlet now has a “?” you can click to get the breakdown for how that particular Profit was calculated:

Profit is a Key Performance Indicator (KPI), and  directly tells you whether you’re doing well or have a problem with:

  • Cost of Goods & Freight costs
  • Amazon Fees
  • Storage Fees
  • Advertising Costs
  • Selling Price and Discounts

If the Profit is rising, then these areas of your business are doing well overall.

If the Profit is level or falling, then you know you need to fix something in one or more of these areas.

THE WORLD OF AMAZON

Amazon continues to amaze, though the way they move into new arenas and dominate is become commonplace enough that it’s becoming less and less amazing, more and more expected.

What’s next for the global titan?

Possibly their own last-mile delivery service. Looking toward a possible showdown with the USPS, earlier this year Amazon started experimenting with new solutions. It partnered with entrepreneurs to develop dozens of small delivery businesses, which then work exclusively with Amazon, the online retailer providing everything business owners need to get started — including the demand for the service.

And, in true Amazon fashion, it’s not just about providing a service; there’s additional profit potential to be had.  If it works, Amazon could offer this delivery service to other retailers, possibly setting up their own competitive option to the USPS itself …

HUMOR

A father was walking past his son’s bedroom one day and happened to look in.

He was astonished to see that his bed was nicely made and everything was picked up off the floor. Then he saw an envelope, propped up prominently on the pillow that was addressed to ‘Dad.’

Fearing the worst, he opened the envelope with trembling hands and read the letter. It said:

Dear Dad,

It is with great regret and sadness that I’m writing you. I decided to elope with my new, older girlfriend to avoid a scene with Mom and you.

I have been finding real passion with Susie and she is so nice. But I knew you would not approve of her because she’s in a gang and is so much older than I am.

But it’s not only the passion. Dad she’s pregnant. Don’t worry though, Susie said that we will be very happy. She owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. We share a dream of having many more children.

Don’t worry Dad. I’m 15 and I know how to take care of myself.

Someday I’m sure that we will be back to visit so that you can get to know your grandchildren.

Love, Your son Tim.

P.S. Dad, none of the above is true. I’m over at Jimmy’s house.

I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than a lousy report card …

That’s in my desk drawer.

I love you.
