TIPS & NEW STUFF

This week we’ve got another tip in our series on things to do in a downturn. We may be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, and it’s a great time to keep prepping for the return to normal business.

Want another great thing you can do during this time?

Go crazy with your social media marketing.

Times like this are great for getting creative with your marketing and branding.

Things like:

  • How-To videos.
  • And though videos are the best content for consumption at a time like this, posts and pics are great too.
  • Just-for-Fun videos and posts. Always a great way to connect and build rapport with your customers.
  • Topical content. What’s something they’d want to hear about?
  • Human Interest. Especially at a time like this, your customers would love to hear directly from you. How are you holding up? What steps are you taking? What advice might you give?

Not only is it a great time to market your products, it’s an even better time to market you. Your brand.

Despite social distancing the world is closer right now than it’s ever been. We’re all going through the same thing, and as a result we’re forging new bonds and strengthening existing ones.

Take this opportunity to really connect with your people.

When things are better, they’ll remember that you did.

THE WORLD OF AMAZON

Amazon on (last) Thursday introduced a targeting feature in Sponsored Display for U.S. sellers. The feature, available via Seller Central, aims to promote the discovery of new products by reaching those who browse similar or complementary products and categories across the marketplace.

The option turns the retargeting tool into what some might refer to as a cross-category discovery tool …

HUMOR

Two engineers were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking at its top. A woman walked by and asked what they were doing.

“We’re supposed to find the height of this flagpole,” said Sven, “but we don’t have a ladder.”

The woman took a wrench from her purse, loosened a couple of bolts, and laid the pole down on the ground.

Then she took a tape measure from her handbag, took a measurement and announced, “Twenty-one feet, six inches,” and walked away.

One engineer shook his head and laughed, “Typical woman! We ask for the height and she gives us the length!”
