TIPS & TRICKS

Another feature added this week, this one for the Keywords tool.  Until now you’ve been able to specify whether or not to include the Child ASINs when checking keywords for a Primary (Parent) ASIN:

By default the Include box is checked, and ranking results include both Child and Parent ASIN results.  Until now, if you left that option, you had no way to tell which results were for the Parent and which were for the Child.

Now you can.

You’ll notice a new column in your Keywords tool, which is the ASIN for that particular result:

If you have the “Include Child ASINs” box checked (default), the Rank ASIN column will identify the ASIN to which the results apply.

This makes it easy to quickly scan the list and spot trends for each ASIN and Keyword.

You can still, of course, deselect the “Include Child ASINs” option, and simply add your Child ASINs (if you have them) as separate entries.

THE WORLD OF AMAZON

It took less than a year for the Amazon marketplace to grow by one more million new sellers. There’s no doubt the platform is growing, on all fronts, and even as it crossed the trillion-dollar mark in valuation, with customers flocking to buy on Amazon (49% of all online sales happened on the retail giant last year), new sellers were filling up the ranks in order to provide products for that vast number of buyers.

We’re taking this as a positive …

HUMOR

A pair of government maintenance guys, Bob and Ray, were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up.

Another guy walked by and asked what they were doing.

“We’re supposed to find the height of the flagpole,” said Bob, “But we don’t have a ladder.”

The passerby said, “Hand me that wrench out of your toolbox.”

Bob shrugged and handed it to him. The guy went and loosened a few bolts, then laid the pole down.

He then took a tape measure from the toolbox, took a measurement and announced, “Eighteen feet, six inches,” and walked away.

Ray shook his head and laughed. “Well, ain’t that just like a know-it-all,” he said, “We need the height and he gives us the length!”

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it’s the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It’s probably the most important thing in a person.”

– Audrey Hepburn
